Registration is now open for Vermont Rural Water’s 2026 Conference! The event features a trade show, luncheon, and training classes (earn up to 3.5 TCH for water and/or wastewater) on Thursday, May 14 at Lake Morey Resort. There will be a golf tournament on May 13.
Tony Torchia Award Nominations
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Tony Torchia Special Recognition Award. This award is given to one individual each year in recognition of special contribution to the water/wastewater field in Vermont. The recipient will be chosen by our board of directors and announced at our Annual Conference on May 14.

Run for our Board of Directors
The Vermont Rural Water Association is governed by a five-member volunteer board. There are two board seats up for election this year. Nominees must be affiliated with a water or wastewater system that is a member of the Vermont Rural Water Association. You are allowed to nominate yourself.
Use this form to nominate yourself or someone else by February 25.
Voting will occur online this spring. The contact person for each member system will receive the election ballot by email. Check that your system’s contact information is up to date by emailing info@vtruralwater.org.
Wastewater Exams
Vermont Rural Water has recently started offering licensing exams for wastewater operators (domestic and industrial). The exam is administered on a laptop. We will be offering exams at several locations around Vermont in the next few months:
February 10 in Rutland (registration closes at 9 am on January 26)
February 19 in Essex
March 20 in Montpelier
