Webinar Trainings during COVID-19 Pandemic

Vermont Rural Water will not be holding in-person trainings until the State of Emergency has ended and Vermont allows gatherings of 20 people. Instead, we are holding trainings online using Zoom webinars. DWGPD and OPR have apporved our online trainings for TCHs.

SunCoast

You can take training courses online through SunCoast Learning Systems. These courses are approved for water and wastewater training contact hours (TCHs) by the Vermont DEC Drinking Water & Groundwater Protection Program and the Wastewater Management Program. Click here to see courses available for Vermont operators through SunCoast.

Note that a maximum of 50 percent of TCHs for a water or wastewater operator’s continuing education training can come from online training in a given certification period. Questions about certification, licensing, and TCHS should be directed to the VT DEC DWGPD (drinking water) and the Office of Professional Regulation (wastewater).

NEWWA Webinars

New England Water Works Association is holding two sessions of this free webinar in December.

Small Systems – Water Loss Control & Accessing Funding
Course participants will learn how to complete a system-wide self-assessment of five core areas of everyday operations. Based on the assessment, participants identify a priority area of improvement that may be eligible for USDA funding, learn how to develop a short project plan, and then learn how to contact/connect with USDA to get the funding process started. All participants receive dedicated, follow-up technical assistance and helpful documents from AWWA. This is a TWO-DAY virtual workshop is available for up to 6 hours of professional credit.

FLO Course

Fluoridation Learning Online (FLO) is available for water operators. The FLO course consists of 4 modules; each module is approved for 1 TCH, for a total of 4 TCHs.
