Frequently Asked Questions

What trainings do you offer?

We offer approximately 10-15 trainings courses each quarter. You can see our current training schedule here.

How do I sign up for a training?

To register online, follow the registration link below the course on the schedule page. You can also register by calling 802-660-4988 or emailing info@vtruralwater.org.

Seating is limited, so register early to ensure your spot. Late registrations and walk-ins are subject to a late fee.

How do I pay for a class?

If you register online you can pay by credit card, debit card, Paypal, or check. Checks should be made out to Vermont Rural Water Association and mailed to 20 Susie Wilson Rd, Suite B, Essex Junction, VT 05452.

How do I get TCHs?

At the end of the training you will be given a certificate of the TCHs (training credit hours) you earned. These are applicable to operator license certification and renewal in Vermont. Some courses can be applied towards both water certifications and wastewater licenses, while others are specific to one or the other. It is your responsibility to keep your certificates, track your TCHs, and report them to the state. Replacement certificates can be ordered for a processing fee of $10 for the first certificate, plus $5 each for additional certificates.

Can I request a training?

Any small group that can provide a suitable training location can request that we hold a course in their area. We will work with you to offer a topic that meets your needs.

In addition, our field staff may be able to issue TCHs during onsite visits when the technical assistance they provide includes relevant training.

What can I expect during the training?

Sign-in begins 15 minutes prior to the course start time. Instructors usually give several short breaks during the training.

We want to accommodate everyone’s needs. Please contact info@vtruralwater.org or call 802-660-4988 to request accommodations.

What if I have to cancel after I've registered?

If you will not be able to attend a course you have registered for, contact us at info@vtruralwater.org or 802-660-4988 at least 24 hours in advance to receive a refund or transfer to another class. If you do not cancel, you will be charged the full course fee.
