2026 Board Member Nominations

There are two board seats up for election this year. Nominees must be affiliated with a water or wastewater system that is a member of the Vermont Rural Water Association. You are allowed to nominate yourself.

Nominations are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, February 25.

Voting will occur online this spring. The contact person for each member system will receive the election ballot by email. Check that your contact info is up to date by emailing info@vtruralwater.org.

Winners will be announced at the membership meeting during our Annual Conference on May 14.

Board Duties & Responsibilities

The Vermont Rural Water Association is governed by a five-member, volunteer board. Board members serve three-year terms and are elected by the membership. View our current board members.

Responsibilities of the Board of Directors include supervising the Executive Director, monitoring finances, reviewing policies to assess compliance, and adhering to Vermont Rural Water’s mission and strategic plan

Board members are expected to attend board meetings and Vermont Rural Water’s annual conference. There are approximately 8 board meetings per year; most are held on Zoom.
