Simon Operation Services is a 30-year-old contract operations company providing drinking water and wastewater services to clients throughout the state of Vermont.
We are seeking an independent, ethical, motivated, problem solver to join our team as an apprentice in the VRWA Water and Wastewater Apprenticeship Program. This role offers hands-on training and experience in maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting water treatment and distribution systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants and wastewater facilities.
Learn to perform routine inspections, tests, and repairs on equipment.
Support senior staff in troubleshooting and resolving issues in the water and wastewater systems.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working in various operational environments.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient system functionality.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong interest in learning about water treatment and distribution systems.
Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
Ability to work well independently.
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and diverse job sites.
Excellent communication skills.
