The Town of Essex is seeking to fill two vacancies for Water/Sewer Operators in the Water/Sewer Division of Public Works. The plan at this time is to fill these vacancies at the highest level possible, between a level I and a level III. The Town is seeking to hire a Water Sewer Operator – Class 1, 2, or 3 within the Town of Essex Department of Public Works. This is a full-time position with Town benefits. The minimum qualifications for each level can be found in the job descriptions below. The Town welcomes candidates of all backgrounds, experience levels and skillsets to apply. The starting salary for this position is dependent on skills and qualifications as well as the level to which the candidate is hired. Entry level salaries for the Water/Sewer Operator Level 1 position range from $18-$21 per hour. Starting salaries for the Water/Sewer Operator Level 3 position range from $22-$27 per hour depending on the candidate’s skills and qualifications. Salaries for the Water/Sewer Operator Level 2 position will fall between these two ranges.
This position requires a CDL and a Class D Water Operators License upon hire or within the first year of employment.
