The North Bennington Board of Water Commissioners is accepting applications for a Class 4B full time Water Operator position in the North Bennington Water Department. Persons who do not currently have the Class 4B operator’s license but would like to train and become a State of Vermont Class 4B operator may also apply.
The operator position requires working with the Superintendent at times or working with the Assistant Superintendent and reporting to the Superintendent. It also requires alternate weekend and holiday duty and response to emergencies as they arise.
Non licensed Applicant requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean driver’s license
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Reliable transportation
- A 45-minute emergency response time to North Bennington
- Serve a 2.5-year apprenticeship to obtain a Class 4B Operator’s License
Benefits included with this position are: 13 paid holidays, paid vacation time after 1 year, paid personal days, paid sick leave. Blue Cross Blue Shield Platinum Single Health Insurance Plan 100% paid by employer. VMERS Group B Pension Plan with an employee contribution rate of 6.375% of Gross Salary and an employer contribution rate of 7.0%. Authorized overtime is paid as compensation time at one and half hours their normal wage in excess of a forty hours work week.
