This position involves the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant facility and collection system. Work consists of monitoring plant equipment for proper operation and for making operating adjustments. Work also involves performing preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, and electrical repairs. Work may also extend to performing laboratory analysis necessary to regulate plant operations.
Requires graduation from a standard senior or vocational high school, preferably supplemented by seminars and formal course work in mechanical and electrical operation, and two years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, similar in size and type to the Middlebury facility.
Must have knowledge of the operation and repair of pumps, motors, electrical and mechanical control mechanisms, and related wastewater plant equipment associated with a SBR and wastewater collection system and treatment facility.
Need to possess a Grade II DM operating certificate issued by the Vermont Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering or ability to obtain same within 2 years of employment.
