Description:
The City of Essex Junction seeks two motivated, detail-oriented individuals for seasonal stormwater technician internships. As an intern, you can work closely with our experienced team to gain hands-on experience in stormwater management and environmental conservation. This position offers valuable training and the chance to contribute to meaningful projects protecting water quality and supporting sustainable community development.
Job Duties:
1. Perform inspections of stormwater infrastructure.
2. Collect data related to stormwater systems.
3. Create and update maintenance plans for stormwater infrastructure.
4. Update infrastructure mapping using GIS tools.
5. Analyze collected data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
6. Conduct water quality testing in accordance with established protocols.
7. Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with erosion control measures.
8. Assist with other water quality-related tasks as needed.
Requirements:
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience with data collection and analysis.
• Comfortable working outdoors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in science, water quality, or engineering preferred.
Pay: $18.50 per hour.
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, from July to September, with flexibility when school starts.
