Here is what we are looking for in the Distribution Supervisor position:
With direction from the Director of Distribution, the Distribution Supervisor oversees and coordinates the operation, maintenance, and construction of the water distribution systems owned and/or managed by CWD’s Distribution Department. This role has direct supervision over distribution maintenance staff and provides technical assistance to the Director of Distribution.
A few of the functions of the role are:
- Supervise water distribution system maintenance operations and construction services.
- Review with the Director and coordinate the work plan for assigned distribution maintenance staff; assign work activities and projects; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems.
- Supervise and act on emergency repairs and/or security issues as necessary or required in concert with other supervisory personnel as a member of CWD’s Emergency Response Team.
- Coordinate with the appropriate GIS entity in the development and maintenance of geographic and related information for owned and/or managed water distribution systems.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing water maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff.
