Here is what we are looking for in the Distribution Maintenance Technician position.
The Distribution Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and construction duties required in the operation of the water distribution systems owned and/or managed by the District Distribution Department and is also responsible for reading all water meters in the distribution systems owned and/or managed by the District Distribution Department. Employee is responsible to repair water lines, hydrants, meters, valves, service or other related appurtenances.
We prefer someone with the following skills and experience:
- Employee shall be able to demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain the mechanical equipment required to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to work under pressure in harsh environments to perform water infrastructure repairs and maintenance.
- Employee shall have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
- Employee shall possess or be eligible to obtain a State of Vermont Class D Water System Operator’s Certificate as required by the Vermont Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division. Employee shall obtain said Certificate within the timetable established by the certifying agency, including passing the required exam within twelve (12) months of employment.
