The Town of Hartford, Vermont is seeking a qualified, experienced candidate for the position of Chief Water Operator. The right candidate will perform a variety of duties involved in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of filtration plants, related pumping equipment, facilities, distribution system mains, and telemetry to maintain water quality standards, including sampling and water treatment for two independent water systems.
Minimum qualifications include a current Vermont Class 3 Public Water System Operator Certification, high school diploma or GED, and 5-7 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to supervise related staff, a valid driver’s license, the ability to operate and repair equipment and be a team-player who is self-motivated.
This is a full-time position where pay is commensurate with experience. Compensation ranges from $30.53 to $41.83 per hour. Benefits include VMERS retirement plan, health, dental, and life insurance; and 14 paid holidays.
