The Utility Billing Assistant performs a wide range of clerical and administrative support functions for the distribution department and serves as the first point of contact for the public. Under general supervision employee performs a variety of administrative, operational, and fiscal tasks.
A few of the functions of the role are:
- Schedules appointments and the prepares work orders for the municipalities managed by the CWD Distribution Department.
- This position functions as the primary backup to the Utility Billing Supervisor for the purpose of preparing water bills for managed systems and is required to receive and competently answer customer inquiries and calls regarding their water bill and associated information as required.
- May assist with the disconnection procedures for water/sewer account for the water systems managed by the District pursuant to State Statute Title 24. As directed, assists with following through on customer agreements and or collections before and during the disconnection process including regular status reports of such to the Director of Distribution.
- Assists with Backflow Device Testing Notifications to appropriate properties for required device testing, and maintaining the backflow device reporting database within water systems managed by the District as necessary.
