The Assistant Chief Plant Operator position performs operations duties under the guidance of the Chief Plant Operator and makes operational decisions in the absence of the Chief Plant Operator for the City’s wastewater treatment facilities. This position performs maintenance and repair of equipment related to the City’s wastewater treatment facilities and participates in the technical treatment process for the wastewater treatment plant. The Assistant Chief Plant Operator assists with setting priorities and directing the day-to-day work of the City’s wastewater treatment facilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with coursework in chemistry, environmental science, civil engineering, biology, and or other related fields. Three years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid VT CDL license with Tanker Endorsement or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment. This requirement may be waived by the Water Quality Superintendent.
- VT Grade 3-DM Wastewater Operator’s License or ability to obtain within the first six months of employment.
Salary: $71,302.40 – $75,670.40 Annually
