Assistant Chief Water and Wastewater Operator – Bromley Mountain

The Bromley Mountain water and wastewater department is seeking an individual to perform a variety of tasks to operate and maintain our system. This is a full-time year-round position with competitive compensation and benefits. This position has the opportunity to enroll in an apprenticeship with the Vermont Rural Water Association for on-the-job training to obtain necessary skills and certifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plant
  • Operation and maintenance of drinking water system
  • Operation and maintenance of underground fuel storage system

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to obtain a Vermont state Class 3 Water System Operator’s certification (with support of Apprenticeship Program, if desired)
  • Ability to obtain a Vermont state Grade 3 Wastewater Operator’s license (with support of Apprenticeship Program, if desired)
  • Ability to obtain an underground Fuel Storage A, B, C Operator License

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license
  • Operator licenses preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This is largely an active role working both indoors and outdoors, in and out of vehicles. Movement and work around the entire resort is essential in this position. Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds up and down stairs.
