Job Description: The Champlain Water District is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time hourly, bargaining unit position ($23.19 to $23.89) with excellent benefits. This position requires skilled work of a responsible and mature nature. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of all CWD’s electrical/electronic equipment and all computerized control process systems. Employee shall also be responsible for CWD property and equipment as directed by CWD Policy. Employee will often perform job related responsibilities with limited supervision and will be required to make decisions, and take action, on his/her own without continuous supervision.
Training & Experience
- Good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic practices as they apply to water systems.
- Minimum of (4) four years working experience in the electrical/electronics field at a level equivalent to a licensed journeyman electrician, while successfully demonstrating self-motivation and competence in mechanical, and particularly electronics/electrical components of water systems operation, is required.
Licenses & Certificates
- Employee shall possess and maintain a State of Vermont Journeyman Electrician’s license, or ability to attain such within a time determined by the District, and shall complete all required National Electrical Code continuing education, achieving National Electrical Code recertification.
- Employee shall possess a valid State of Vermont Motor Vehicles Operator’s License and able to meet insurance requirements established by our carrier.
