Why Donate to Vermont Rural Water?

Much of our work is funded by state and federal grants, which allow us to provide free technical assistance and low-cost training classes. However, when the water/wastewater industry experiences a challenge like a natural disaster or new regulation, our workload increases but the funding we receive from state and federal agencies does not. We rely on membership dollars and donations to get us through these challenges. In addition, our advocacy work can only be funded by donations.

Your generous support enables us to do this important work:

• • Help water and wastewater systems respond to emergencies like the flooding in 2023 and 2024
  • Advocate at the state and federal levels for funding to support infrastructure projects and workforce development
  • Work with the legislature and regulators to ensure that new regulations are fair and feasible to water and wastewater systems
  • Address new and ongoing challenges like PFAS, workforce shortages, cybersecurity, aging infrastructure, flooding, and climate change
