Easy Actions to Improve Your System’s Security
#2: Strengthen a Password
This summer, we’re featuring easy actions you can take in just a few minutes to improve your system’s security.
Change the password on one (or more!) of your most important accounts. This could be your email account, your SCADA system, a control panel, or anything else that is critical to your system’s operations.
Your new password should:
- Be at least 15 characters long
- Contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character
- Not be used for any other accounts
- Not be written on the computer/device (no sticky notes!)
If you have the option to do so, also enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to provide an extra layer of security.
Sanitary Survey Checklist
Next time your water system has a sanitary survey coming up, use this checklist to make sure you’re prepared for everything the surveyor will want to see.
