Description
This class introduces water resource workers to OSHA’s Focus Four Hazards: falls, struck-by incidents, electrocution, and caught in/caught between incidents. These are among the leading causes of serious injuries and fatalities for construction workers. Through practical examples, participants will learn how to recognize common risks involving elevated work areas, moving or falling objects, electrical sources, machinery, and excavations. The class also covers essential prevention measures, including fall protection systems, safe equipment and vehicle practices, electrical safeguards, lockout/tagout procedures, and trench protective systems. By the end of the class, participants will be better prepared to identify hazards, apply appropriate controls, and support a safer work environment.
