Water Hero: Ross Grube

Ross Grube was working at the Newport Public Works Garage when he volunteered to fill in at the wastewater treatment facility. He soon fell in love with the work. “It’s like it’s always been in my blood,” he said. Ross quickly became certified as a Class 3 water operator and Grade 5 wastewater operator. He says his favorite part of the job is the amount that there is to still learn. “I feel like I will never know everything in this field and that kind of excites me.”

Vermont Rural Water is putting together informational materials to help state legislators understand the needs and challenges of water and wastewater systems when it comes to development and housing projects.

We are looking for local examples of water/wastewater systems that were impacted by proposed or constructed projects, or projects that were limited by water/sewer capacity.
