What has been your favorite part of your job? Least Favorite?
The best part of my job has been working with people who are really passionate about public service—they care with every part of their heart and soul and that is very humbling.
The hardest part of my job has been telling operators that they need to implement more sampling, limits, or improvements at their Wastewater plants when I know that Municipal budgets are stretched incredibly thin.
New Grant for Small Water Systems
The Vermont Bond Bank recently announced the Small System Capacity and Resiliency Program (SCRP), which provides grants of up to $250,000 for small drinking water systems at risk of failure. All public Vermont drinking water systems serving 10,000 or fewer (largely residential) customers are eligible.
Eligible projects include preliminary engineering evaluations, engineering design and bid specification, permitting, and construction for activities that comport with the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund’s eligible project types as outlined in the “DWSRF Handbook.”
Applications are due December 2, 2024. Find more information here.
