Understanding the Basics of GIS and How to Make It Work for Your System

PLEASE NOTE: This class has been moved to the UVM Extension Berlin Office instead of the National Life Complex as originally scheduled.

Description
GIS can seem intimidating to new users because of the infinite possibilities and uses it provides. This course reviews the basic components of GIS mapping while considering the three major questions that all systems need to address when deciding to move forward with GIS technology: (1) What information do you want available when accessing your map? (2) What level of editing and control do you want to have over the map? (3) How much money do you have in your budget to obtain the level of mapping functions you want?
