Water Hero: Gail Ball

Gail Ball retired at the end of January after 13 years as the Clerk/Treasurer of Lunenburg Fire District #1. During that time, Gail was successful in bringing down the delinquency rate and even helped a neighboring fire district bring in $137,000 in delinquent payments! She says she most enjoyed seeing customers—and their dogs—when they visited the office.

Free Cybersecurity Assistance

We are halfway through the one-year Cybersecurity Circuit Rider pilot program! This project is a collaboration between the National Rural Water Association, the White House Office of the National Cyber Director, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Our cybersecurity circuit rider, Forest Anderson, can provide free assistance to water systems, such as:

  • Cybersecurity assessments
  • Assist in implementing security best practices
  • Funding assistance
  • Staff training
  • Incident response planning

Book Talk at South Burlington Library

To kick off Drinking Water Week, join Vermont artist and author Dan Nott for a talk about his nonfiction graphic novel, Hidden Systems: Water, Electricity, the Internet, and the Secrets Behind the Systems We Use Every Day (winner of the 2023 Vermont Book Award). Dan will talk about how comics can help us understand the world around us, and show how these systems were built and work today. A question-and-answer session will follow.

This event is geared toward ages 10 to adult. Snacks will be provided!
