The Town and Village of Ludlow invites applications for the position of water/wastewater systems assistant operator. This is a full-time, year-round position working under the direction of the Municipal Manager and Water/Wastewater Chief Operator.
Associate degree with study in water and wastewater treatment with (5) years of experience in water and wastewater operations and (2) years supervisory experience is preferred but will train the right candidate. Applicant must achieve a Vermont wastewater certification and a Vermont class 3 water certification within two (2) years from the date of hire. Must be available some weekends, holidays and be on a rotational on-call schedule. A valid driver’s license is required.
Operation of the water and wastewater facilities includes, but is not limited to: plant operations and maintenance, preventative maintenance, laboratory testing, record keeping, budget and cost control and sampling/testing as required by the State of Vermont Water Supply Division and the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation. Applicant should be familiar with Word and Excel computer programs and be able to perform other municipal duties as required.
