Corrosion Control and Polymers

The first part of this class will focus on distribution system corrosion and methods to combat it. Topics covered include: what is corrosion and what causes it, why some waters are more corrosive than others, problems corrosion causes, lead and copper rules, and using phosphates and pH adjustment to combat corrosion.

Then we will look at polymer use for solids separations, including: what is polymer and how does it work, storage and handling, mixing and using polymer, how to make adjustments, and spill clean-up.
