The City of Rutland Department of Public Works has a job opening for an Operator Mechanic CG 1. Operator Mechanic operates the City’s sewage treatment plant by assuring proper continuous lubrication of pumps and motors, taking pumps apart and cleaning when plugged, cleaning grates and wet wells, etc. Also performs minor electrical and plumbing duties to guarantee the smooth operation of the facility following a daily schedule of work events. Other duties may also be required as determined by the Plant Superintendent.
Candidates must have a Class 1 Certification as Vermont wastewater treatment plant operator as specified by the State of Vermont, Dept. of Water Resources or ability to attain a Class 1 Certification. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
This position requires a self-motivated individual with a high degree of flexibility and willingness to multitask. This is a Union position, and successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen. This position 3:30pm-11:30pm Wednesday-Sunday.
