The Town of Berlin, VT seeks a qualified person to fill the position of Public Works Supervisor, a highly responsible position that plans, develops, manages, directs, and implements the yearly maintenance and daily operations of the Town’s water and wastewater systems. The work involves a variety of responsible complex tasks that require sound, independent judgment, and action.
The Supervisor works under the general direction of the Public Works Board and may on occasion report directly to the Town Administrator. The Supervisor directs and supervises all the Public Works Board employees or contractors and is expected to make day-to-day decisions independently to provide positive results in all areas.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Vermont Class 2 or higher Water Operator’s license and be proficient with various computer programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Previous work experience in a municipal public works environment is desirable. This position requires interaction with the public and town employees. The Public Works Board Supervisor plans, develops, manages, directs, and implements the yearly maintenance and operations of the Town’s water and wastewater systems. This is a full-time salaried position (40 hours per week).
