Chief Utility Plant Operator – Windsor

The Town of Windsor is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to work as part of our Utility Department as the Chief Plant Operator. A general description of duties is as follows:

Reporting to the Utility Foreman, the Chief Plant Operator exercises a high degree of responsibility in the performance of a wide variety of skilled tasks, and the mid-level supervision of others, in the operation, maintenance, repair, construction, and inspection of wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and collection systems, Current infrastructure includes two wastewater treatment plants (Main and Weston Heights), four wastewater pump stations (Bridge Street, Paradise Park, Hubbard Brook, and Harpoon), and a collection system serving approximately 1,800 customers.

Minimum qualifications include: Valid drivers license for state of residence, Vermont Grade 2 Wastewater Operators License, the ability to obtain a Vermont Grade 2 Water Operators License within one year of employment will be a plus as will the ability to obtain Class B CDL with air brake and tank endorsements.

This is a non-exempt hourly position in the collective bargaining agreement with a starting hourly rate of $27.75 to $29.18/hr depending on experience.
