The Town of Springfield, VT is seeking a Plant Operator for a full-time position at the Wastewater Treatment/Composting/Pretreatment Facility/Wastewater Collection Plant. Position requires routine daily tasks concerning the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant(s), pumping stations, composting facility and PTF. Performs functions such as screening, grit removal, filtration, sedimentations, disinfection, sludge processing, pumping, composting, and PTF/wastewater collection. Custodial duties include mowing, snow removal, general work on divisional grounds and buildings. Requires an understanding of job safety.
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Preferred experience with associate courses and knowledge relating to the Water/Sewer Division. Must possess a clean valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License, must be able to acquire a Commercial Drivers License within one year of hire. Preferred Certified State of Vermont Water Pollution Control License – Operator Grade 1 or better.
Benefits and retirement plan included, Grade 17 union position, pay range $18.41 to $22.42 depending on CDL requirement and certifications.
