The Operator in Training is an entry-level position in the Town of Richmond’s Water and Wastewater Department. The person who fills this position will be responsible for routine maintenance at Water and Wastewater facilities and will be expected to learn about operations of the facilities while on the job.
This position is typically paired with the Vermont Rural Water Association Apprenticeship Program. The program is designed to train new hires at drinking water and wastewater facilities across the state. Apprentices will learn system operations through on-the-job training and prepare for certification exams through online/classroom education and self-study. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in starting a career in the water and wastewater industry.
Starting pay is $21.53 per hour.
