Piscataqua Environmental Services is looking to hire a chief operator for the town of Brighton’s water and wastewater facilities. This is a full-time, hourly position ($24.00-$28.00/hr with paid overtime) includes retirement benefits. Normal daytime hours, but responsibility extends to 24/7 availability. The Operator should live within a 30 minute travel time radius. The Operator will be involved in and responsible for all aspects of managing, maintaining, and keeping both the Town’s potable water system, water billing system, and wastewater system clean, safe, and operating smoothly in accordance with State and Federal regs. The Operator will be as supportive and cooperative as job responsibilities allow when interacting with Town residents, property owners, contractors, and consultants.
Supervision: The Operator is under the direct supervision of the Contract Operator, Piscataqua Environmental Services.
Experience: Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or a GED; have at least a public Water Works Treatment Grade 4B and Wastewater Treatment Grade I; have 3-5 year operational experience, be familiar with computers and computer applications; have good writing, speaking, and listening communications skills.
