Join Us!
Water system operators in Vermont now have a convenient way to ask questions of their peers! A new online forum for operators, hosted by Rural Water, provides a venue for the timely exchange of ideas, questions, announcements, and more. The forum is free to all subscribers.
The intended audience is Vermont water operators, but others in the broader water community are welcome to join. The forum is email based with
archived messages available on a searchable website.
To launch this online Forum, we're using a free web-based service called Topica.com. You must register with Topica.com to participate. They do advertise on their website, although Rural Water does not endorse any of the products that Topica.com advertises. If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to contact the Forum Moderator:
It all depends on you, the participants, now. Send in your comments, questions, frustrations, notes of appreciation... whatever you think will be appropriate for the Forum audience.

Online Guidelines
Some online etiquette guidelines do apply. Please:
- Be concise.
- Be polite and considerate at all times.
- Consider identifying yourself in all messages to the Forum so the participants know who's writing.
- Send in only your original message; don't include old messages from other participants.
- Stick to the subject of water systems.
- Include a meaningful subject title with your messages.
- Don't advertise commercial products.
- Don't send Internet hoaxes, spam, or other bulk email to the Forum.
Instructions
PURPOSE: This is a discussion forum for Vermont water system operators and other industry professionals including suppliers, engineers, and regulators. Post a question, observation or comment concerning any aspect of water system operation, maintenance, management or regulation.
To SUBSCRIBE to the forum (or ADD A NEW ADDRESS), send an email message to

To UNSUBSCRIBE (or DELETE AN OLD ADDRESS) from the list, please send an email message to
vtwater-unsubscribe@topica.com.
To POST A MESSAGE to the forum, send an email to
vtwater@topica.com. Please be clear and concise, and consider including your full name and affiliation so we all know who's writing.
If you choose to REPLY to the forum message that you receive, examine the "To:" part of your reply to be sure that your note is headed to the intended recipient.

How to Stop Junk Mail via the Forum
When you signed up for your Topica.com account to become a subscriber to the Vermont Water System Operators Online Forum, you may have missed a small check box that, when selected, spared you any spam/junk email. If you missed it, here's how to fix the problem:
- Log onto the Topica.com Web site and go to "My Topica".
- Under Preferences in the lefthand column, select "My Top Offers".
- Uncheck all the check boxes on this page (about 30 of them).
- Under Preferences in the lefthand column, select "Topica Specials".
- Uncheck all the check boxes on this page (about 10 of them).
This should completely eliminate any and all email solicitations outside of the Forum.
